Carbon footprint

Carbon neutrality

Like the CFAO group as a whole, CFAO Healthcare is committed to contributing to decarbonization efforts by aligning itself with the trajectory of the Paris agreements: reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 compared with 2019 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

To achieve this objective, an ambitious program was set up with priority given to equipping CFAO Healthcare’s production and distribution sites with solar panels. Several logistics platforms have already been equipped, such as in Senegal, Ivory Coast and India. Installations that cover up to 30% of the electricity consumption of these sites.

Combined with the solar panels, also installed on the roof, the energy balance is exemplary and in line with the Group’s ambitions in terms of decarbonisation.

2024 will see our decarbonization efforts continue and intensify : our production sites in Morocco for example, but also in Guadeloupe and subsequently in Cameroon, Kenya and Mali will be equipped.

In mainland France, the site of Val de Reuil in Normandy – CFAO Healthcare’s new flagship – has been the focus of major efforts to control consumption.

Among all the solutions implemented, we should highlight the exclusive agreement signed with energy producer EDF to recover the heat produced by the neighbouring EDF Data Centre. A closed loop will heat the entire 45,000 m² building using low-carbon, sustainable and 100% local energy.
